أعلنت جامعة أوميا عن عثور باحثون في السويد على أقدم شجرة في العالم لا تزال حية وهي شجرة صنوبر عمرها 9550 عاما.وأوضحت الجامعة السويدية في بيان أن هذا الاكتشاف المذهل تم على جبل فولو في دالارا بوسط السويد.وقال البرفسور ليف كولمن المشارك في فريق الباحثين من جامعة أوميا أنها مفاجأة كبرى لأن العلماء طالما اعتقدوا بأن هذا النوع من أشجار الصنوبر لم ينبت في هذه المناطق سوى في مرحلة متأخرة.وكان العلماء يعتقدون في السابق أن أقدم أشجار الصنوبر تعود إلى أربعة آلاف أو خمسة آلاف سنة وهي موجودة في أميركا الشمالية.وقد عثر على أقدم شجرة في العالم عام 2004 فيما كان الباحثون السويديون يقومون بإحصاء للأصناف الموجودة في هذه المنطقة على ما أوضح البرفسور كولمن.وجرى تحديد التاريخ بواسطة الكربون 14 في أحد مختبرات ميامي في فلوريدا.وأضاف كولمن أن ذلك الاكتشاف قلب النظريات المعروفة مضيفا أن هذا من شأنه أن يساعد على فهم أفضل للتغيرات المناخية.(وكالات)http://egyknight.blogspot.com/2008/05/blog-post_4500.html
